Cindy Stewart Podcast Show Notes Groaning Brings Breakthrough - Pentecost 2020 Thursday May 28, 2020 It does not take the experts to tell us that our world is aching for something beyond our current circumstances. We know that there is more. We know we were created for more. Our souls are crying out. We are groaning to move beyond what is, to what could be, and should be. According to dictionary.com the biblical meaning of the word groan is: noun: a low, mournful sound uttered in pain or grief: the groans of dying soldiers. a deep, inarticulate sound uttered in derision, disapproval, desire, etc. These significant groans can be clearly identified throughout various points in history. We are currently experiencing a desire for the right change now. This is an amazing opportunity for us to go beyond experiencing history and actually make it. Romans 8:19-21 (MSG) says, “That’s why I don’t think there’s any comparison between the present hard times and the coming good times. The created world itself can hardly wait for what’s coming next. Everything in creation is being more or less held back. God reins it in until both creation and all the creatures are ready and can be released at the same moment into the glorious times ahead. Meanwhile, the joyful anticipation deepens.” The church has been groaning for some time; groaning for righteousness, for repentance, for identity. We are groaning for all the sons and daughters of God to rise up and take the Kingdom here on this earth — in anticipation of the eternal Kingdom where we will live with God forever. In this week’s message we will talk about how: ~ Our groaning brings a breakthrough ~ Our groaning catches the attention of God ~ Our groaning activates God’s move on the behalf of His people ~ Our groaning positions us to experience God in a new way I believe this season of groaning is a corporate move we can all be a part of. This is a season that requires our obedience. It is a season that demands we choose to fight for God and not against Him if we are to see change.
